Expedia - Cancelling holiday

Hi all,
I booked my first holiday in October last year ( I'm only 18) and I paid in full straight away, I fly in June and BA have cancelled my flights - that's not a problem. My problem is if I cancel my hotel through Expedia will I have to pay a cancellation fee even though my flights have been cancelled and the hotel is currently " unavailable form March 17 - October 31"
There is obviously no way the holiday will happen due to the virus so should I wait for Expedia to cancel it and then try for a refund or cancel it and cut my losses?
Thanks in advance.

What do you mean "holiday"
Was it flights and accommodation with Expedia? how was it billed (one total to Expedia, or other ways)
What method of payment did you use?

Hi,It was just accommodation. I paid for the flights with BA which have already been refunded.I paid with Debit Card.0

As you booked them separately the flights being cancelled is not legally reverent for the hotel booking.
Where you are due to go, as what refund you are due can depend on the rules of that country.

The hotel doesn't seem to be 'available' so I'm assuming they're shut. They're also not taking any more bookings. So if they are shut surely I can claim money back regardless of my flight situation.Greece is where I'm goingIf I was just to cancel would I have to pay a cancellation fee and then receive the majority back? if you would happen to know.0

They might be shut now, but open in June ( and reopen being able to book)
What are your cancellation terms, or is it the booking non-refundable?

I emailed the hotel direct at they said: "The hotel will be closed on June due to governmental lockdown of all hotels and we expecting the update of the opening date."I don't remember booking a non-refundable hotel but I'm away from my laptop at the moment. I just don't want to click cancel on Expedia and it look like I'm cancelling the hotel when really theres no possiblity of my going to the hotel0

Don't cancelled it, you might have to wait but you have proof the hotel is closed

Expedia's website says:
If your hotel stay is scheduled to begin after 31 May 2020:
Please check back. Many of our travel partners are currently offering revised policies until 31 May 2020. Checking back will help ensure that the most recent updates apply to your travel plans. If you do want to cancel today, you can do so from the My Trips page, but please be aware that all normal cancel penalties will apply."
