And if I go straight to BG, they hide the tariff from current customers. So, back where I started?"they can always leave, switch to a different provider without exit fees and switch back to BG."
Whatever you do, read the Ts &Cs very carefully. There are at least three versions (v4, v5 & v6). and you have to be a homeowner.0 -
She is a homeowner but leaving BG isn't something she's likely to consider unfortunately. If she would, I'd be looking at cheaper providers and not that deal.0

I switched to this exact BG tariff yesterday from Eon. I searched each of the big6’s websites, including BG, & found this To be the cheapest via Uswitch.I believe Eon have a cheap deal but it’s not available to existing customers, only new.0

The tariff I referred you to is not available from energylinx as its an exclusive tariff, so you can only get it via MSE (or MoneySupermarket)

The above links do not allow me to switch to that Tariff, probably because as an existing BG customer there's no referral fee, hence direct application via the BG website is the only option, and as soon as that logs you as an existing customer, the best BG tariff is not listed. I truly believe this is therefore a 'Brand New Customers Only' tariff in all but name.0

Surely she could bear to leave BG for 15 working days?0

I'm afraid not. I will try again but if I succeeded in getting her to leave BG, it would be for a cheaper deal elsewhere not a return. I've located the BG info on the package but can't see any 'Brand New Customers Only' exclusion, shout of if you can.
