SSE SMART METER DISPLAY QUERY
Options
Hi there all.
Hope you can help, i'm noticing a weird issue with my smart meter display, the electric energy usage is correct.
However the gas energy seems to be showing in MW, Currently 1.66MW with a running total of 91.6MWh.
This is clearly wrong as though it is showing the wrong unit of measurements.
This has been happening for a while.
My bills are as expected and not through the roof.
I've pulled the battery and restarted the unit, but should this not be showing Kw?
I doubt im using 1.66Mw, with only a boiler pilot light lit.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Phil.

Hi,I think you mean the IHD, in house display, you should always take your readings from your actual meter.0
-
The readings are the same as the in house displays readout.
I check that often
Query is should the display for gas be showing in MW
Currently 1.54MW with no gas running (Bar back boiler pilot)0 -
Where as currently electric is showing 520W which i believe to be accurate

Are you sure the gas meter on the wall is showing MW/MWh rather m3 ? Gas meters measure volumes, at least the traditional ones do.0
-
The gas meter reading is 4129.083 M3 (both on the IHD and the meter itself.
The IHD linked to the meter is showing 96.3MWh for todays usage alone
Strangely i left the battery off and when it booted up, it was showing 9.25Kwh for a few seconds, then jumped back to 96.3MWh.
I suspect something is getting lost in translation on the IHD, but unsure how to resolve it.
Ive reset the IHD to defaults and it repaired to the meters but still showing wrong...0 -
£475 for this smart meter rubbish - and it doesn't even work properly !0

You had to pay for one, thought they were free?0

Phil_GT said:You had to pay for one, thought they were free? The exact cost of the meter installation is debatable, but the point is that there is a non-zero cost obviously and that cost is being paid by the suppliers so it forms a part of their operating costs that have to be covered by their revenue.Their revenue comes from their customers (us) so we pay that cost albeit indirectly through our energy bills...1
