Help hard search

Please help a payday loan company has twice in 3 months run hard searches on my file . It’s statute barred, they’ve said it is , that they can’t enforce it yet they keep running hard searches saying credit application search which I have not. Can they do this. ? This has been statute barred over 2 years.

Application means someone is applying for loans.

Can they do this if A. I have not applied for new loans,( they are in administration)
    B. The old debt is statute barred and was removed over a year ago but now put back on?
  • I’d go to the credit reference agency and point out the problem (if you are applying for a product I’d add a notice of correction). I’d also discuss the issue with the payday lender, if to no avail then the financial ombudsman service.

The additional checks are to see whether you have other debt elsewhere and may become unable to pay them back etc. and they’ve even said you’re currently in arrears.

And yes if you agreed to it then it’s legal.
