Hi guys,

I’m planning to put on an oak beam on my fireplace opening.

i was wondering how people are putting the beam on the mouth of the opening without interfering with the lintel?

Nonetheless, I have seen a YouTube video where a bracket is used on each side, does anyone know what they’re called please?

Please see below video at 1:06 where the oak beam has two brackets, one on each side:

Thanks in advance everyone :)

Looks like a bar fixed to the wall with a pin sticking out that engages in a hole in the beam. You want to look for "floating shelf brackets" - That should turn up the sort of fixings you are looking for.
