Car lease price increased before delivery - what are my options

Hi
I ordered a lease car earlier in the year and paid an admin fee - was due to be delivered end of March, due to lock down it wasn't delivered.
The lease company contacted me saying the car was not registered either and that the cost of the lease was going to increase by £370 / year.
This is not something I can not afford and there is a cancellation fee of £360.
I do NOT want the car at the new price (happy to have it at old price) but think its out of order to pay the cancellation fee as its not my fault they were unable to register.
Can anyone help? what are my options?
Thanks

You will have to look at the contract and see whether it covers this situation.0

hi thanks for the quick reply.
Where abouts in the contract would it be? also what sort of thing / wording would I be looking for?
Thanks0 -
'5. Figures shown are subject to manufacturers, dealers, or leasing company price changes, fluctuations in interest rates or changes in Government legislation. These are outside of our control.'
Assuming this means I have limited options0 -
Yes, I think you are correct. Technically they could have delivered the car, as it was a journey for work purposes from their point of view, but then the issue arises as to how the driver returns. As time goes on, prices do change, and I think you are stuck. Having said that, I think some companies have shown flexibility and have offered reduced cancellation charges. Try talking to them and explaining that you wanted the car, and it wasn't your fault that it wasn't delivered at the original price point, and see if they will offer some ex gratia reduction.1

Hi
I feared as much - you would think there would be some 'wiggle' room as a 15% increase / month is significant!
Thanks1 -

Does the contract not have the price you agreed on it? Seems odd to pay an admin fee without having the price locked in.0

contract had all costings on it - once I was happy with that I paid the admin fee and they secured the vehicle0

Have you actually spoken to the lease company and raised your concerns?0

They initially sent a warning email - saying it 'may increase', I asked what my options were and they just said it may not increase and lets wait and see - this was over the phone
I received an email saying there was an increase, again I asked about my options and they have not responded (it has been about 5/6 days now) - this was via email.0
