Covid-19 Travel Insurance query

Hey,

Was looking for a bit of advice, I had booked a holiday for the family leaving at the start of June however this has been cancelled and the tour operator will be refunding us eventually, We did however purchase a single trip policy approx £50 in total so nothing major basically the question I have is would I be entitled to a refund (The premium paid for the insurance)  as the holiday has been cancelled by the operator?.

Thanks

Normally no you cannot as the insurance covers you from date of purchase ,ie if you fell and broke a leg a month before your departure date you would be covered on the insurance for cancelation due to the injury.
