lease car not received

hi all wonder if someone could shed some light. in February i sorted out my first ever lease car (Mercedes) sorted all the paperwork but haven't paid a thing yet as the first payment was due 2 weeks after car was delivered or when its delivered cant remember, but it was ment to be delivered last month but due to current situation it is in Germany or not even built i have no idea. since the lock down i have only received 1 email from them saying no change the factory is shut down (i.e Germany).
my question is am i eligible for some sort of discount when it eventually does arrive or am i in my rights to cancel the whole arrangement?

thanks lennie

I doubt a discount as the contract remains albeit postponed, but I assume you don't start to pay until it arrives?

Why would you be due a discount? The lease simply starts when it's delivered. Same terms.

As far as cancelling - if the car is being built to your order, there may be a penalty if it's already in build and to an unusual specification that wouldn't be easy to resell.

I'm was in a similar situation (with the added bonus that the lease firm furloughed their entire workforce so didn't respond to emails for weeks). I had signed an order form but not the finance forms (which are usually sent out closer to delivery). I doubt you could get a discount, but i did manage to get the order cancelled.

I found it key that a delivery date had been agreed in the order. Whilst the contract with the lease broker stated that they were not liable for delays, i gave them 14 days to deliver (from the original date) under the Consumer Credit Act 2015. They admitted that they would not be able to comply and refunded the admin fee - which i didn't expect!

Yesterday a different dealer delivered an identical car to the one I originally ordered for the same price so it's all worked out well.
