“Satisfied” Default

Hello,
I am disputing final costs with a finance company which the ombudsman are looking into. The company told me that they would not impact my credit score until a decision was made. Last month a default was recorded. I spoke with the finance company who apologised, saying it was a mistake and they would remove it. I have just looked on my credit report again and see the default as “satisfied”. What does this mean? Does that mean it will stay on my file for the 6 years? I believe the company said they would be deleting it as an error so it appears this is different?

Thanks!

Normally the advice is pay the credit off then dispute, as in your case, this problem can arise.
