Hi Guys,
I'm looking for your wisdom please.
I recently switched supplier and the switch all seemed to go through all as planned with no issues. However I was in credit by quite a bit of money and getting this money back seems to be harder than expected. I have called the old company, Ebico, and requested this. They said that they were waiting on the meter reads from the new supplier to process this as the final read and they did not have this information yet. So I called my new supplier who explained that all of the information was available on the national database. I went back to Ebico who still claim not to have the final reads in order to process my refund. The switch was completed on 23rd March.
I have a few questions;
- Is there a time limit that this should be completed in? I read an article that said 'within two weeks' or will be entitled to compensation, any truth to this?
- What would be the quickest way for me to final get my money back?
Any help welcome.
Thank you,
Mr_C

But suppliers are allowed up to 6 weeks from ceasing to supply you to produce the final bill. (but this only became a requirement that attracts an automatic penalty since the beginning of this month)
So up to 2 months in total.
If the supplier has not provided a final bill within 6 weeks of them ceasing to supply you, then follow the supplier's complaint procedure.
