Transferring in cash will be quicker, but I will be out of the market for a little while, which is a position I do not want to be in right now.

Cost averaging doesnt help your long term investment returns - its purpose is simply to help you accept the risks of investing at all, particularly with a lump sum. With an investment timescale of perhaps decades whether you invest in a particular asset once a month or twice a year is pretty irrelevent.
