Annual Leave - Being forced to take all annual leave while on furlough

Just looking for a bit of advice. I have been furloughed. My employer is going to force me to take all my annual leave accrued and that carried over from a previous year, leaving me with no annual leave on return to work. Surely they cannot force you take all your leave especially when you are on a strict lockdown and cannot make the most of your hard earned leave. The employer is also expecting me to take leave at the end of May even though the leave will not be completely accrued until the end of June. Grateful for any advice you can give.

The employer can do that0

Unfortunately, your employer can tell you when to take your annual leave, with notice.

So I'm assuming that after June when you return to work you will start accruing holiday pay - so that's half a year, that will give holiday for rest of the year.
Many companies with staff of furlough are allocating holiday time, otherwise they would face a "holiday bombshell" too many people with all their holiday to take in last six months or less.1 -
At least you'll receive a 100% of pay. Leave while on furlough isn't hard earned. Totally the reverse. On the return to work you can help your employer rebuild the business. Relationships are best if they are two way in difficult times. Otherwise your employer may regard you as expendable. If you attitude is simply one of me first. Everybody is going to have to pull together on the other side.

Unfortunately they can do that they need to give you twice as long notice as they want you take. If holidays are that important to you in the future, I would try to negotiate a few days unpaid leave.
