Where do I stand with this - was told by renter they would assess today statement as to whether they would agree to same date next year or another date within 12 mths...however they made it clear that they hoped to have safety and cleaning regs in place for our booked date in June.  They also use an agency and the agency clearly make no assumption even prior to today that the booking are cancelled till July ....so this cottage complex are doing that for them.
I heard BJ today say that travelling was for not for the purpose of holiday homes or second home owner travelling.....so where does it leave folk.  Can anyone show a clear link that states the government policy for me.
I think at present decending on holiday communites might be welcomed by some - but I certainly would some locals and emergency services would not welcome it.

Any guidance please

You can't leave home except for the originally mentioned ESSENTIAL reasons. You can't go to a holiday cottage, even if it's your own holiday cottage. Wait for them to cancel the booking, then take them up on their offer of a refund or booking for next 12 months.

You can travel anywhere but need to come back in the same day, so no way that you could go and stay in a cottage. Surely the agency would accept that.
