Late last year i asked my Mother in law what she would like for Christmas, she said she had always wanted to go up in a helicopter, so we shopped around and found a deal that was the right price and the most convenient for us to travel to.
Because of the non flying season we settled for the 28th March, however this date was cancelled when the Covid 19 problem started, we received an email saying that they were postponing the flight and to pick another date about a week after this my M.I.Law was taken into hospital (non coronavirus) U.T.I Infection while in the hospital she was checked for various other problems and unfortunately we were told she was in an end of life situation, although we were very concerened about this we had to take into account that she is 98 years old.
it had become clear that she would never be in a position to take the helicopter flight and as no one else in the immediate family was interested in taking it we emailed the company and asked for a refund. At this point all we can get from the company is that they will extend the voucher until next year but are refusing to give a refund.
i think that they are making a point in that they said it was postponed and not cancelled.
is there anything i can do about this or am i just in a situation where i lose £240.
the company involved is Adventure001 and the telephone number is 02082661562 and address. Hillmotts Farm, Hedgerley Lane, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 2SB

Please do not take this the wrong way. It is meant with good intentions.

As it is something she always wanted to do. Take the trip yourself or partner. Take the ashes with you. At least you then know she got something she wanted to do.
    Take care.

Generally I would expect the passenger to bear the risk of being unable to go on the flight due to their own illness (in the same that you would if it were, say, a holiday), and I would guess the terms for this sort of thing allow them to chop and change the date to fit weather, numbers of other bookings for each day etc. As above, I would just rebook for yourself or whoever you know who'd like to go instead.
