QR Code on collection

Hi, just had someone collect an item and they had a QR code that the seller (myself) had to scan. I have never seen this before and had no idea how scan it. Has anyone seen this? It’s a good idea if it’s to guarantee an item was collected.
Thanks

I sold an item - they asked if they could pay cash on collection which was fine as would have been tricky to post so they turned up and handed over the cash (not PayPal) but then they knocked again and said this QR code had come up on their phone (she showed it me and it was on her eBay purchase page) saying she needed to get the seller (me) to scan this as some sort of confirmation the transaction had taken place. I had no used how to do this so just marked as paid and dispatched.0

If it’s a new eBay idea they might have let us know 🤣0

I would have said got nothing to scan it with. Only got an old desktop PC and no camera.
You need to be careful what you scan, 99% it was probably fine but you can auto install stuff from scan codes.

I do wonder how this will work though with paypal - will they change their terms and conditions to accept proof of collection and not just proof of delivery for full seller protection? Also what about chargebacks for fraudulent use of a card - will that be protected with this scan as well and if so how will the scan be stored and for how long?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
