Amex BA credit card - missed first payment

in Credit cards
Hi,
I recently got my first credit card and it is the British Airways American Express card. I have been using the Amex app to keep track of things.
Whenever checking the app it has said 'No Payment needed yet' so I would check it sporadically but nothing changed. I checked it on May 3rd and it said the payment was due on May 2nd meaning I was a day late for my first payment.
I then paid the FULL amount (1k rather than the £25 minimum payment that I missed), set up alerts with the help of the live chat (why are these not automatically turned on?) and set up a direct debit for future payments.
Is there any grounds for me to ask for an act of goodwill because they sent no notification, and did not make it clear on the app? It's not that I can't pay it, I just wasn't made properly aware. Would the actions I have taken (full payment, alerts set up, direct debit) work in my favour in getting them to remove any late payment charge? Its not the charge i'm concerned about but the affect to my credit score
Thank you

You can ask nicely, however they don't have to.
Did you look at your statement? If you did you would have seen your payment due date.0 -
As above you can ask. But I doubt they will remove the marker. You missed a payment. Next time setup DD in full immediately.0
