Marriott data breach

I'm angry with Marriott! Despite having gone to extreme lengths to get them to provide me with information on the personal data that they hold on me, and which they admit has been accessed by some third party without authorisation, they are refusing my request to delete this personal data from their records. This is what they say ... "As the owner and operator of hotels, Marriott
International, Inc. is subject to extensive recordkeeping and tax laws and
regulations that require the preservation of transactional and customer
information. This information is also necessary to establish, exercise,
and defend against legal claims." They then go on to quote a number of sentences from the GDPR. So I've promised them that I will create as much negative publicity for them as possible. If readers feel able, please share this to inform everyone just what a rubbish organisation Marriott is. Many thanks, Daibach.

It seems like they're behaving correctly.
If you have doubts, ask to see their data retention strategy, which will show how data is gradually removed.
You negative publicity campaign looks like it will only highlight that they are operating within the law.1
