Hi all, may seem a silly question but I have never had a credit card before.
What I’m wondering is does the interest free period start from when the card is sent out or from when the first purchase is made
thanks
thanks

Neither.
It starts from when the account is created, so a few days before you receive the card.1 -

Can I jump onto this question please? Planning on using my CC to pay for quite a large purchase and want to give myself the full 56 days of interest free period to pay off the purchase. I am best off paying the day after my statement is generated? Thanks0

You get a statement and in the statement is a due date.
So long as it’s paid before that due date then you won’t get charged interest on it.
