So lets see what Coronavirus projects you have all been up to.
I have been busy working from home but the OH he has been furloughed for the last five weeks. So he has been keeping himself busy turning our plain white new build into our home.
We moved into this three bed new build detached just over a year ago.

The first room to get a makeover was the living room.

Followed by the kitchen

Some of these pictures make the rooms look dark but I assure you that is only the lighting conditions for the photos. The rooms are all lovely and sunny usually with south facing windows!
The hallway got some (well a lot) of shrinkage cracks repaired and a lick of white paint. No pictures of that because it isn't very interesting
Next up was Bedroom 3

Then the guest bedroom 2

And then last week it was our bedrooms turn for a make over.

This week it is the turn of the ensuite and then the main bathroom which just leaves the smallest room in the house the downstairs loo which will probably be next weeks job because it doesn't look like the OH is going back to work either this week or next week so at this rate he might get the whole house sorted out. Could do with a six weeks (and counting) holiday for him every few years so he can go through the house!!

Very nice. Looks like a Persimmon build from the layout? Looking to buy one myself if lockdown ever ends, some good inspiration in these photos 👍

It is their Hatton house type. The layout works really well for us with the downstairs split half lounge and the opposite half the kitchen diner with the stairs and hallway up the middle. For some reason this house type was not proving popular last year on this development so we got a great deal on it. Oddly when the final two Hatton's were released for sale earlier this year they were both snapped up pretty quickly at what we thought was a very high price!0 -
We're still working (from home) but we have decorated the downstairs toilet, the hall, the ensuite and did quite a bit in the garden. Rearranged some rooms.. Not sure what we're gonna do next to keep ourselves busy haha0

Working from home too, OH attends work.
Start of lockdown was packing / sorting stuff for charity.
Completed my purchase at the start of the month, deep cleaned everywhere (so grubby!)
Put a couple of coats of paint in main bedroom.
Moved in a few days after purchase.
Painted half the porch type area.
Unpacking (ongoing).
Sorting things for charity.
Mainly focused on the garden as I've had no outside space for nearly 4 years:
OH has taken trees / bushes / stumps out, created compost heap, built a walled rose garden, took down rotten fencing, built a fire pit / BBQ so I can sit out year round, prepared my herb garden for planting and a load of other things.
Two big trees have been professionally felled.
I've uncovered a patio spanning across my garden, uncovered roots / stumps, took out weeds, swept up and other simple thing due to disabilities.
Still to do is dig up small path and redo it, make garden furniture, order / lay bulk compost, order / lay big path, build greenhouse, plants herbs / veg.
Then start make a few changes to inside.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -

In ref to guest room out of curiosity are you a queen fan.
I like the cassette player which is coming back as it has a better quality than streaming services and mp3.When you look into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you. Nietzsche
Please note that at no point during this work was the kettle ever put out of commission and no chavs were harmed during the making of this post.0 -

We have managed to decorate two of the bathrooms in the last couple of weeks. The ensuite was an easy one.
And then onto the main bathroom. This room despite being one of the least used rooms in the house had a hell of a lot of shrinkage cracking and nail pops. It was probably the worst room in the house for it.
The OH is back at work and has been for a couple of weeks now so the last room in the house the downstairs loo is on hold for a little while. But this room shouldn't take too long, it isn't very big. Again there is shrinkage cracking but not as bad as some of the other rooms.
Our other project is also well on the way towards being brought back into use as well.
Our boat Naughty-Cal has been mothballed since August last year. We had a buyer for her who offered us a great price but unfortunately at the last minute Covid 19 reared up it's ugly head and the sale fell through due to him having to close his business suddenly. Given the current climate we have decided that it is now unlikely to sell so we are going to bring it back into use for a couple of years and give it another go at selling at a later date.
This weekend was spent scrubbing the canopies and stripping down the sterngear for servicing and repair. Next weekend will be spent giving the hull and topsides a machine polish and maybe getting the bottom painted. Depending on how work goes for the OH this week and if it doesn't pick up he looks like being put back onto furlough as of the end of this week so that would be excellent timing for getting some stuff done on the boat.

We wanted something that would age well and we feel that a fully brick finish with the stone cills will do this better than a part rendered or more modern (at this time) design. Both of which we think will look more dated more quickly.
I agree that the meter boxes would have been better off elsewhere but actually with the layout out of the house and the service entry points being located at the kitchen as expected there really isn't a choice. They would otherwise be in the walled off garden and meter readers are really not going to go into locked garden to take the readings. We are going to paint the boxes a different colour at some point so that they blend in a bit better with the brickwork though.0
