New build, can I just switch energy?
Hi,
I moved into a new build property last week. Can I just go ahead and switch to a new energy provider or do I need to sign up with the current provider on a no exit fee tariff first?
Wasn't sure if I a new provider could sort out how much I owe for the few days we used after moving in

READ THE METER/S NOW and keep a record. The builders will have signed up to a supplier, and until you have registered your occupancy with them and they have set up an account for you, you cannot change to another supplier - If you do 'Bounce' the system you will end up with 2 suppliers, which will cause mayhem a few months down the line, and a large Debt bill from the present supplier.1
