Cannot transfer a balance from Amazon (Newday) to Sainsburys

Has anyone else run into this problem? Using the Sainsburys online banking service I am not able to transfer a balance from Amazon (Newday) card to Sainsburys. It allows me as far as inputting the credit card number, how much I want to transfer and then I click the button for the OTP and it pops up with something about security checks and that it cannot complete the transfer. However, when I choose a different card (Barclaycard) to use for the transfer it works fine.
I have not phoned/contacted Sainsburys yet, sometimes I get a faster response on here as someone will have had this happen before and know the problem/workaround.

I think the answer is the "security checks and it cannot complete the transfer".
Speak to Sainsburys.

I message them online to see what the issue is. This the exact wording for the declined balance transfer:
Because of the checks we do before approving a balance transfer, we've decided not to approve your request at this time.

Same thing happened to me today. I called Sainsburys Bank and the adviser asked me to tell him the first 5 letters of the card I wanted to transfer from (Amazon New Day). He said the system didn't allow transfers from this card. Couldn't tell me why. So annoying as that's the only reason I got the Sainsburys card.0

Given the 1st 5 indicate who the card provider is, I wonder if at some point there has been a change and in effect the balance transfer is being moved within the same group. Which is usually not allowed.Life in the slow lane0

Newday have provided cards to many companies over the years. It could be somewhere along the line, that there is a crossover. Hence why the 1st 5 make a difference.
Perhaps Op can try

and let us know who the card owner is.Life in the slow lane0 -
I had difficulties doing a Balance Transfer from Newday to a Nationwide Credit card (for a 0% offer) a while back. Although my other transfers were fine electronically, Newday wasn't supported electronically, and the balance needed to be moved via a cheque. If was difficult to get the right details from Newday to give to Nationwide, but credit (sic) to Nationwide staff's persistence in getting the info, it was eventually transferred, but took a while (2-3 weeks IIRC).
So I think this is more likely an issue with Newday than Sainsbury's if things haven't improved on their end. If I get another balance transfer offer, I think I will leave my Newday balance where it is. The Newday card though is very useful for the Amazon cashback.

This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."0
