Furlough

I work in a private nursery. I have currently up till now been furloughed. My boss now wants to take us of furlough in rotation for a week at a time to do admin work then put us back on furlough. Is this allowed  to do, do I have to agree to this as I have already been given a furlough contract. To put me on and of furlough as she likes

There's nothing wrong with your employer doing this at all. The minimum time you can be furloughed is 3 weeks.

Yes, this is quite normal. For your employer to claim CJRS in respect of furlough, each period of furlough claimed has to last 3 weeks.

Well we've always known the furlough scheme is just till the end of June so nothing much has changed. Surely people who actually have work to do should be going to work anyway, I thought that was always the case.

I think he probably will not extend it from June by sounds of announcement but they may role something out for companies that can't work rather then choose not too.

Nothing has been said about furlough, that will be coming later this week via Sunak. natashapugh85 said:

From my understanding, it doesn't sound possible to be furloughing people on and off on a weekly basis. Surely this would be an administrative headache for both sides and also, the employer either needs you, or doesn't. Or can afford you, or can't.

The employer should really be looking at either taking some people in your workplace back from furlough properly (either FT or PT) or none at all.

"If you've been placed on furlough by an employer, the guidance states you'll need to remain furloughed for a minimum of three weeks. Some employees may come off furlough after that period, but there is nothing stopping an employer re-furloughing that worker for a second time later down the line (provided the furlough scheme is still running)."

Rotating furlough is allowed but for the employer to be able to claim, each period off work needs to be 3 weeks not working.
