UK Hotel Holiday

I’ve booked a 2-week hotel holiday in Devon for myself and my elderly mother on 19th June this year and on booking, the hotel’s terms and conditions state that my deposit is ‘non-refundable’. However, Mr Johnson has announced today that hotels will not re-open until July so where do I stand legally? Can I ask for my deposit to be refunded to me under these conditions? Your your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

There's no certainty that hotels will reopen in July. Speak to the hotel concerned to discuss the options.1

Thank you for your replies. I have received a very courteous response from the hotel who have confirmed that all deposits are being refunded.0
