Following the update from the prime minister tonight, if my energy supplier contacts me to get a smart meter fitted is that OK

Are they allowed to come in without PPE. Is this essential services

Up to the suppliers / installers, but I can't see a voluntary meter upgrade being classed as essential services. Dare I ask why?

I think only emergency meter appointments are ongoing... Most if not all smart meter installation programme are paused at the moment.
