Thanks, @Lorian it's a pretty basic single oven and we're selecting the fan icon/option.

If the oven is getting to the correct temperature then I don't think you can argue it is faulty but as others have said I would buy an oven thermometer rather than rely on the engineer testing it.
You want to test that it does get to the set temperature, that the thermostat kicks in and out and that it maintains the temperature it's set to

    Good idea
oven thermostat temperatures can be 10% out either way and that’s deemed acceptable by most manufactures
generally Indesit ovens are reasonably good and don’t give much bother

    Just another thought
if this is mainly an issue when cooking frozen food it could be that your freezers set to cold, a freezer should be set at -18 but if sitting at -25 food will take a lot longer to cook from frozen

I've just always thought every oven is different and you have to use your judgement . For example, I've got a very hot oven, and I bear that in mind and set it a bit lower .

Have you tried increasing the temperature by 5 or 10 degrees? If the thermostat is reading a bit low (within reasonable tolerance), that might solve your problem.

For what it's worth, I tend to cook most things for a bit longer than the recommended time because I prefer them crisper. Fish fingers would normally take 20 minutes to get to the right degree of crispiness for me.

    I think that's what I just said.
