Want to change energy suppliers but EDF Eco 20:20 metre causing issues
Hello!
I am looking to switch energy suppliers. I’m with EDF for gas and electricity & have an Eco 20:20 meter & gas with Blue+Heating Protect Jul 20. EDF tell me it’s not dual fuel and I had many problems trying to obtain a new deal for both electricity and gas via EDF last year. EDF installed the electricity meter in 2009 and as they were confused over their own set up it put me off switching. I pay monthly by DD. The Eco 20:20 meter isn’t option on switch sites, only Economy 7. Am I trapped with EDF? Any advice gratefully received. Thanks!

Ask them to fit a smart meter and go on a traditional tariff?

Thanks for the response Talldave. However under current circumstances no one is going to come to mine to fit a smart meter. I was hoping a switch would be quick and easy but it seems to be a tad painful and I want to try and catch the best deals while they’re fixed for a year.0

Thanks Gerry. From this it looks like I’m trapped with EDF until someone can come and change my meter then. I’ve had the ruddy thing nearly 11 years now 😂0 -
Seems odd to have a 9 hour electricity tariff if you have gas?Assuming you use gas for heating (if not, why not?) then you'd probably be better off with EDF's single rate. You don't need a meter change to switch, EDF are obliged to bill you at single rate if you ask them.0

Oh, that’s interesting to know, thanks. Yes, we have gas for heating.0
