Wooden framed window maintenance

Hi, I live in a reasonably modern house (20 years old or so), in a wet part of the UK (west coast, Scottish Highlands) and have wooden framed double glazed windows. Unfortunately, the former owner didn't keep on top of looking after them, so the paint is flaking off and the wood cracked in places, which is a pain. Can anyone recommend the best course of action to sort them out, please?

Strip, replace any rotten wood, fill, sand, prime and paint with decent quality exterior paint.
