Tenant Referencing Credit Check ... What do they actually see?

When letting agents pass your details over to a referencing company, what do they actually see on the credit check? I have looked online but keep finding contradicting information! Some say they only see CCJ's, IVA's and bankruptcies (public information) and some say they can see everything like late payments, defaults, how much credit you have etc - Which one is correct?

The do not see your loans, defaults or late payments. Agents are not financial institutions.2

Can somebody calm my nerves then and confirm that the following is just hype?letalliance.co.uk/2019/06/same-day-referencing/It seems to suggest that they can now access a full credit file which will show defaults, loans, and criticially for me, DMPs!

They can ask for your consent to see that information, but you can refuse.Whether or not this will make the landlord move onto the next potential tenant is a question that only they can answer.1
