Have done the checks, we are using the correct one - but as someone stated the first reading is higher so suggests that the first ever reading was taken incorrectly - probably due to confusion and taking it from the wrong meter. That would make a lot of sense I guess with what everyone is saying. Thanks for the help so far!

Go and do the meter test right now (all off / huge load with kettle, tumble dryer, all heaters, iron etc / all off) and check at the same time see whether the meter has two registers.Also look at your bill. If you don't have an E7 meter, then get one immediately. You can always have a single tariff on an E7 meter if it turns out to be cheaper.Hope you're not running your car on cans of lighter fuel...0
