Stocks and shares ISA losses due to Corona

My stocks and shares ISA has lost  15 percent of its value in one month due to Cornoa, I don't need the cash at the moment (or in the medium term) what is the general wisdom to wait it out and hope the markets bounce back or cut my losses and release the funds?

You are asking a question that is really the province of suitably qualified advisers. The general wisdom is that there are only two prices that matter: the price you bought at, and the price you sell at. You have to make the judgment as to when you want to sell.

The general wisdom is not to sell unless you desperately need to the money. You haven't lost anything until you sell and the markets are well up from their lows. They might go back down but hopefully will make it back in the coming year.

Plenty of threads in the investment section on this subject.  Although you may need to look back a few pages as the low point was around 23rd March and since then markets have been zig zagging upwards.

what is the general wisdom to wait it out and hope the markets bounce back

As they always do.  Sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly but that is the zig zag nature of investing.

Remember that this recent drop was only the third worst fall in the last 20 years.    Its nothing unusual or unexpected.   Pretty much routine for every 7-10 years.  The reasons differ every time and whether there is a single drop, double drop or triple drop is unknown and the period it takes to recover is unknown.     You just close your eyes to it and see it out.
