I need to change the carbon brushes in my Indesit washing machine and would like to attempt this myself.
Can anyone advise me if this is something I could do or is it best left to an engineer visit? I have changed belts and heating elements on machines in the past
If it helps and as a long shot the model no. is IWD71251s- not sure if its likely to b any more difficult on this model?
Thanks for any advice

Easy repair if you are DIY. Power off. Machine out. Back plate off. Disconnect motor at click on wiring. Motor out, usually bolted in. Disconnect brushes and replace. Put all back together. If DIYer once you see it you will know what is required.ferry said:I need to change the carbon brushes in my Indesit washing machine and would like to attempt this myself.

Never did this model but usually all the same. Someone might give different/better advice if they have done this with same model?
Did a few but recently most machines are now brushless LOL

Don't know about your machine but you might not even need to remove the motor. Might require the machine turning onto its side giving access from the under side.1

Look on YouTube for a tutorial, even if your machine isn't there you'll get the idea.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.1
