Mis Advice regarding cancellation from small travel company

Yes, not sure how it works in a complaint.gemmakevin said:Yes ATOL and ABTA so that's good. However, it's still my word against theirs.
But if you took them to court, the decision would be on the balance of probabilities.
So would look at the evidence as a whole.
A Judge would have to decide who was telling the truth.
IMOH It would make no sense you cancelling at the time unless prompted to do so for a full or nearly full refund.
You paid £8600 and by cancelling then you only get back £1600. and lose £7000 where as if you waited you would get a full refund.
With the situation as it was, if a person was told they would only get a refund under 20% of what they paid,I doubt anyone would have taken that, they would have waited.

Exactly!!! I will complain to the holiday company first and ask how to escalate if I don't get the outcome I want. Thank you for your help.Life__Goes__On said:

It will more then likely take a while, so make sure you have everything written down while it's fresh, every detail you can think of.
Good luck.
