Hello. We booked via on the beach.  We have paid close to a grand so far and are due to pay another £2500.  No insurance, but atol protected.  we are due to fly late August with easyjet to Mallorca.  I don't know if we should cancel now and lose the grand but save the rest, or keep paying?  We can't afford to lose the whole balance and simply don't know what to do.  Can anyone help with some guidance pls as we are mega stressed as to what to do..??  We are hearing that if flights are cancelled but hotel stays open, we are stuck.  We have also heard that if it's all open but government says don't travel, again we lose everything.   Just don't know what to do.  Any advice would be most grateful.  Thank you.

If you have ATOL protection then you’ve booked a package holiday.  If the flights are cancelled then you are entitled to your money back for the whole holiday as the package holiday can’t happen.

If you’d booked flights and hotel separately you could forfeit your hotel costs if the flights were cancelled.

Ok.  Thanks for that.  What if government says don't travel or advises against it though?  I still lose out right?  There is so much conflicting advice it's hard to know what to do for best?

If you booed a package holiday you should be ok
I don't think package holidays will go a head against Gov advice
