Advice on my credit score

My credit score is now 272, and I’ve been trying to increase it.
I had 6 defaults all outstanding from november 2016, I have now paid off 4. So I settled 4 this month. Everything else is on track, no searches, less than 50% credit utilisation and recent car finance at a good rate.
My question is how much impact will the settled defaults Make?
When I paid 2 off they changed them from defaulted to closed accounts so surely that’s better.

Ignore the pretend score.
Settle your debts and start to build good history through sensible cars usage.
Pay off the car finance if you can.1 -
