Would I be unreasonable for taking a second test?

If you no longer have a fever then there should be no reason why you can't go out. Using something over your face to protect others will also help.

Does it really cost the NHS in the region of £225 for a test or are these private firms making a huge mark up on private tests?poppy12345 said:
If that's the only reason then it's unlikely they will give you a 2nd test. You can of course pay for it yourself, if you want to.SammyW39 said:I am just someone who likes to be certain about thingsNo does not cost that per test. You could ask for a second test and they would either let you or not depending on you meeting the criteria for it.0 -
When you leave the house would you be going to work as a key worker? I think that is the only group for whom tests are available, so if you are not then the question seems moot at present. There is also quite a bit in the news about the tests seeming to be positive after a patient has recovered when the test is just reacting to dead bits of the virus left behind. Perhaps NHS 111 could advise you on safely going out?But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Just stay in as long as you possibly can.0

I thought that testing was unreliable if carried out after the first five days of having symptoms (and the application page for testing also seems to imply this), so I think even if the OP could get another test it's too late to give a reliable positive or negative.

Believe it or not, it can indeed cost that much for the test. Ok so the swaps and forms are pretty cheap, but then you have to pay for staff and laboratory time as well, neither of which is cheap or come free
The general rule is 7 days after the temperature has gone
If you feel you really need another test, which at this stage in your recovery may read a false positive, as it has for many thousands, then go ahead and pay for one0 -
Usually a private consultation itself is over £120, so yes they are making a huge markup. The actual test costs much less than that.SammyW39 said:
