Hi All.
Virgin media have linked my address to my brothers account because i paid a bill on behalf of him. My brother got adverse report and now this is effecting me.
They say its a financial link. How can a bill payer be financially linked.
Ive got proof in message and via telephone conversation that states i am the card holder at a different address. And i mentioned i am not the virgin account holder.
But they proceeded to telling me to take the payment they must have the bill payers address in doing so they updated the customers address and therefore its created a link. At no point was i told that this creates link.

I have clearly mentioned i am just a billpayer but they insist that becuase the address has been changed that the information is correct utter shambols and they will not he removing the address.
Now my brother is about to lose out on a mortgage and potentially become homeless.0 -
If you do not have a joint account with anyone then you have not got a financial association. You will need to check all three of your credit files and file a 'Notice of Disassociation' form as necessary for each one.I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

A linked address should not create a financial association, and should not affect your ability to get credit. You say that your brother got an adverse report and this is now affecting you. In what way is this affecting you? Has a financial association been formed?

I think that this is actually a financial association to another person rather than an address? If it were the latter then your brothers credit history would not affect you. I suggest the first port of call should be a notice of disassociation sent to the credit agency? I would definitely get this resolved as, fi your brother has creditors chasing him, you may find they see the link and start hassling you with letters etc0
