My husband and I are currently shielding as we are high risk, we have been lucky to get home delivery each week from Tesco but I was appalled to see that they are now charging up to £7 for a slot. It has gradually gone up each week from £1 pre Coronavirus.surely this is just greed,

Although not looked lately but Tesco slots were always up to that price for the best slots where I live. Have you tried looking for less popular times? With you shielding you will be in when it comes.

£7 is a lot less than it even costs them to process, pick and deliver your order.0

I've had my groceries delivered from Tesco for 50p - they have always had a ridiculously wide range of delivery charges, most recently I have happily paid more for mid-day delivery slots because for some reason I feel more comfortable with those than with the 10 - 11pm slots I usually go for because it's the cheapest. So no, it's not a recent increase.0

Have you phoned Tesco about this? I rang them as my consultant advised me to isolate for the duration (although not on govt list) and they sorted it out so that I can access priority slots. The slots are £2 per delivery, regardless of time and day. The slots are 10am to 6pm or 2pm to 10pm (which is fine as we are at home all day) but Tesco send a text with a one hour time slot within those times during the day of delivery. There's a separate button on the website for priority slots (next to the button for selecting a one hour time slot which presumably will give different costs for different times and days).paidiholly1 said:My husband and I are currently shielding as we are high risk, we have been lucky to get home delivery each week from Tesco but I was appalled to see that they are now charging up to £7 for a slot.
