Sainsbury's credit card - do I still need to scan my nectar card?

If I get Sainsbury's credit card that collect nectar points at checkout will I need to scan my nectar card & pay with Sainsbury's credit card to collect all the points?
Or will I be able to simply pay with Sainsbury's credit card without scanning my nectar card? (As in, will it be a two-in-one?)

Yes, swipe your nectar card too.
You'll get points on your shop then additional points on using our card for items bought at Sainsburys.
Check this out for yourself on the 'how much can you collect' section of the website sainsburysbank dot co dot uk/doublenectar/index (edit - not enough posts made yet to post a working link)
I do this and can see my points going up on the nectar app with each visit (as well as any extra bonus points instantly added from buying saved items) then more points show with each payment made to pay off the credit card.

I think the OP is asking if the credit card will also act as the Nectar card when using it in Sainsburys.
AFAIK no. You must still physically use both cards to get all your possible points (the credit card for the ones awarded by the bank, the Nectar card for those by the store).0 -
if you shop instore you need to use your sainsburys credit card and your nectar card. if you shop online you need to link your credit card to your nectar card. you can do that in 'my account'. once thats done your points will be added automatically with each on line shop.

I think the Amex Nectar Card is the only one that’s “dual purpose”.0

Nectar can be used Con-tactlessly, not sure if your credit card can.

If you use their hand scanner on the way round the store, you synchronise the Nectar card to this on each arrival. With their SmartShop mobile phone app, this stores the Nectar card details you've entered once. Otherwise show the Nectar card at self checkout or ordinary till, even if using Sainsburys credit card (unlike Tesco)1

Oh well what a shame. I can't get amex at the moment, as waiting for two years to be eligible for welcome bonus. And I really don't like fiddling with their nectar scanners. Thus was going to get the Sainsbury's card just to have "dual purpose" pay and go. The Tesco cards for clubcard points are neat with that respect. But I use payplus in Tesco these days for payment+points in one go.0
