Are there no credit cards besides Amex offering good cashback?

All the credit cards I have which had cashback offers on them (of 1-2%) came to end a while ago. I've been looking around for another for ages, but it seems the only ones to ever offer cashback worth having are American Express. Has anybody seen differently? I might consider their 5% cashback over 6 months offer if I was going to make some very heavy purchases in a short space of time, but for a general card to put all my everyday shopping on over the long-term I would prefer Visa or Mastercard.
Considering the abysmal/non-existent interest rates on current accounts, I guess this puts an end to the idea of stoozing altogether. There is basically no reward to having money now, which I suppose is the whole point of these record low interest rates - to make us spend.

Stoozing is pretty pointless if you're just going to take the easy option of leaving the money in savings or current accounts. But with a little imagination a good float can earn a decent return.

Re: cashback cards, outside of Amex you'd do well to even get anywhere near 0.5%. With the likes of Tandem the first £1200 of spend a month only covers the card fee. So you'd have to spend quite a lot to earn  worthwhile return. The Santander All-In-One doesn't seem to be spoken about much. It has a monthly fee of £3 but earns 0.5% which is paid as a monthly statement credit. It also has 0% purchases and balance transfer offers on.

The Barclaycard cashback card is free and offers 0.25% if that's any help. If you can get a 0% purchases offer on it, you could get paid to slow stooze!

If you run a business, you can get a business credit card - Capital on Tap and Santander offer 1% cashback cards.

NatWest Reward gives you 1% cashback in supermarkets and 0.5% elsewhere. £2pm charge, which is waived if you have a NatWest Reward current account

Exactly. That's the card I'm planning to apply for too as I already have NatWest reward account. 1% on all supermarket spend is not bad.

I applied for this card and upgrade of Natwest current account from Select to Reward. Was accepted for current account and rejected for credit card.

Having the account doesn’t automatically make you eligible for the credit card

Did it? Good thing I've still got my ex Egg Money Barclaycard paying 0.5% cashback
Could have sworn everything I've read about it says 0.5%

I got rejected for the RBS Reward credit card, but accepted for the NatWest one afterwards - exactly the same product from the same bank

I think the poster above you was referring to a particular Natwest card.
