We cancelled Sky about 6 months ago, best thing we ever did! We still use the box for freeview and pay for Prime/Netflix so about £20 a month instead of nearly £60 a month. The only downside is we can't pause/rewind freeview, I think once the loan is paid off we may consider a freesat box just for the recording/pause etc facility.Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

Personally I’d just use the skybox rather than buying freesat, you’ve already spent a chunk in a laptop. Maybe set yourself a target for debt reduction at which point you can make purchases like that. That’s what I’m doing with my wish to buy a watch, keeps getting shifted though as my priorities have changed overtime and I’ve become more focussed on the debt.

Yes sky TVbox just works as a Freesat box. Just can't record. We got rid about six months ago, haven't watched any actual TV since kids stopped school. Netflix, Amazon, Disney iplayer and YouTube here.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉2

Do you have a smart tv? Being able to record tv is pretty redundant these days with iPlayer etc. And all the streaming services available.
