Debt free wannabe by dec 2021

Options
So I'm back again and this time sticking to it.

So here's a little about me.....

I'm currently in debt £12,949. Stupidity and bad decisions have got me in the mess and I'm going to work hard to get it gone. Theres currently me and my partner and 2 children and we rent at the moment, in time I'm hoping to get the debt gone and save using that money to put towards a deposit on a house. Both me and my partner work earning £50k a year.

Debt was over £15k begining of december so hoping with the help and motivation from all you wonderful people we can get our debt gone for good.

So looking at figures and debt was £15,500 in December now £12,949. Seeing that had made me realise I am making progress. I have £1000 emergency fund and doing well keeping it at that (havent been touched since building it up).

My plan for this evening is to sit down and make a plan to save and make more money during this pandemic.

Hope everyone has a lovely evening, keep safe xx

    Thank you monkey62 and pidge04.
I find rounding down my current account helps alot, transferring straight to my loan without knowing the little amounts have gone. So another £3.15 over to my loan (little amounts all add up).
Pay days friday with bonus so normal payments will be paid and bonus being transferred straight to the loan. On countdown until I can pay around £600 of the loan.

After looking over outgoings I think my massive part I could be saving on is food shopping, I need to take control of this, my challenge over the next few weeks is to meal plan, buy what I need and stick to it. Any tips would be really appreciated.
Theres currently 2 adults and 2 children and I'm spending around £550 a month on food. This seriously needs looking at step by step..

Good idea to meal plan. I found I was leeching money in groceries but a plan and a list relating to the plan has really helped.

Do u do weekly or monthly plans honeysucklelou2? Been thinking of ways all night to tackle this, first step is to use the food that's all ready here and plan and hope everything else falls into place.

    My plan this week-
-meal plan with food already here
-have atleast 4 no spends this week
-sort 1 room this week by decluttering and put aside anything that can be sold after the lock down
-start drinking atleast 3pints of water a day
