Goodmans Soundbar keeps automatically turning off

I have a 60watt Goodmans soundbar, but it randomly shuts off for no apparent reason.
I did Google the problem, and it seems a few people have complained about Goodman soundbars with the same problem.
Some seem to think it turns off due to a long period of inactivity, but how can it be inactive if I was listening to it?  I use the optical cable straight from my TV to the soundbar so that anything I watch through the TV is going through the soundbar because the speakers on my Sharp TV sounds dreadful.
Anyone have a remedy to this as its so annoying.

Thanks for that. It says you can cure it by increasing the volume on the TV and lower the volume on the soundbar. But this doesn't work due to it being connected via the optical cable. There is no way to increase the volume or input to the sound bar this way.
It even does it connected via bluetooth, so I can't see a way around it.

I admit it didn't make any sense to me but I wondered if your soundbar worked differently to the hifi that I us. It would appear that Goodman understand their products less than we do!

Bssically their saying if I ditch the optical connection and use the headphone socket from my TV and connect it to the composite connection on the sound bar, and turn the TV volume up quite loud,  but adjust listening pleasure on the soundbar it cures it from going into standby mode. Quite how or why I dont really know.

If I understand correctly, it's got the same kind of 'energy saving' feature that lots of TVs have, and switches off after a certain amount of time doing nothing. During that time, you're enjoying listening to it! Surely all you need to do is turn the volume up or down every hour or so. On my TV I do get a warning that it'll go into auto-standby, and all I need to do is press a button on the remote, I guess you don't get a warning, and can't switch the system off.

Thanks so the only cure really is to every hour adjust the volume up and down or down and up? Irs so annoying when your watching a movie. I sometimes have to rewind the parr I missed by the tine I grab the soundbar remote. What an annoying feature.

I have since connected the soundbar via the headphone socket of the tv, but it seems to now replicate the awful sound quality of the built in tv speakers.  But curiously it hasent shut off randomly like it was. But I cant stand the poor sound quality so I have gone back to using the optical lead from the tv to soundbar.
I think the tv must have an issue with its built in soundcard or something for it to sound just as bad from the headphone socket. But its a brand new Sharp tv you dont expect that do you?
