Returning from Maternity Leave

My Maternity leave ends on Monday and am unable to return to work as my children cannot attend school or childcare provider. What are my rights? My employer does not provide a furlough scheme. How will my maternity pay be affected?

Could you take a few extra weeks unpaid? I would have thought in the next month or so that most childcare providers will be back again.0

You have no rights. Your maternity pay? It will end and if you don't work, you won't be paid.

You will need to apply for unpaid leave. There aren’t any other rights I’m afraid, are you classed as a key worker? If so you can access childcare schemes that are still available.0

You will have accrued holiday during your maternity leave. Have you asked your employer whether you could take some of this time?0

As above, I've a friend in a similar position who is using holidays to coverDebt Free as of December 2020 👏
