I can see the retailers taking the hard line and only accepting faulty stock back or at least items described as faulty. So no the returned stock would go back on sale cheap.

Shame about the postage costs on Ebay, do they really cost that much to send?

Royal Mail Special Delivery £19.45 with £500 insurance, is the only way for most individual sellers. Seen some quote 1st class recorded delivery...that could mean trouble

That would depend on the terms and conditions of each companies return policy and what the law allows.

Returns will surely be dependent on the state of the item - if the seller was stupid enough to open the box to photograph it then some retailers might be reluctant to accept a return.
Just seen one go on Ebay for £160+£25 postage - the seller is going to lose out on that one!
Big sign in HMV in Oxford today - Nintendo Wii in stock.

£2 you wuz robbed guv, 69p in argos

Not really, the cheap ones in argos aren't fused, and are no more than a travel adaptor tbh.

It's best to pay the little extra for a BSi / Kitemark compliant adapter that won't void the warranty

  • What's the problem with buying a Wii from Europe and having to get an adapter for the plug? Surely you can just cut off the old plug and fit a normal UK plug? A few years ago buying anything electrical in the UK with a plug fitted at all would have been unusual. Naturally if you don't feel confident about fitting it yourself, get somebody to do it who knows what they're doing. Also, remember to use a 3A fuse.
