I have a brand new Nintendo Wii, still unopened that I had delivered from the US. I will sell it for the price I paid, £200. Anyone interested
I live in Nottingham, so you can collet it, or I will post it.
U.S. Wii's don't work on UK tv's I don't think, not sure what the technical reason is, but it's what others have said. Smile, you only get one life, LIVE IT.0 -
I apologise!
However in my defence, you did not say that it included Wii Play in the original post, you just said Wii with Wii Sports.... so by that, £220 is above and beyond, however as you say if you paid £40 for Wii play and are including that for £220 then fair enough!!!

Morph3us I agree with you, Kaza stated a wii for sale with sports for £220, with is a ripoff. If it included wii play as she says then why at 2:13pm today did she post asking "Does anyone know where to get a Wii play from?"
My two pence anyways
btw how quick do you lot turn on people on here morph3us has over 2,000 posts under his/her belt, give a little respect.Live slow, Die old lol0 -
They do work on UK TV's, but you need an adaptor. The difference is you have to buy the games from the US, but they are usually cheaper, and thats with the postage!0

They will work (unless you have an old or very low-spec TV incapable of displaying NTSC video signals).
However, the issues are:
1/ Voltage difference: you'd either need a step-down transformer OR a European powerpack to connect to it.
2/ You will not be able to buy (or rent) games from a UK store because the consoles are region-locked ergo you will need to buy your games from USA/Canada.
If you can live with the above, you'll find that games are often available sooner (and cheaper) but the knock-on effect is that the re-sale value of the console and games will be lower since the average bod will not want to put up with the cons for the pros.0 -
Walked into ToysRus today at the Metro Centre and they just happened to have had a delivery this morning, I'd put the kids off wanting one as didn't think I would be able to get one. Unsure if we are keeping it or not, they have DS lites now that we bought instead and might end up going OTT again which I said I wouldn't do this year.
Woolies are good at that by the way, 6 gifts I ordered last year 'should be delivered by 18th december' it said. Rang on the 20th to be told, 'It'll be the end of January before we have them'.One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200

I tried ordering from Amazon France a week or so ago only to discover at the end of the process that they could/would not export game consoles outside mainland France (and I'm a fluent speaker so I know there was no mistake) I've since read on another bulletin board that Amazon Germany have blocked all exports, which the poster believed was not entirely unrelated (ahem) to the fact that the Wii is now selling at astonomical prices on Amazon UK. I registered for info with Dixon's because a specialist wii stock locator site said it was rumoured they would have some today and sure enough, Dixon's emailed me this morning AND they were showing in stock on their website. However, £380 odd for the console, some skins and a few games didn't seem terribly attractive after all the excitement of actually FINDING one! I've explained the situation to my kids and promised them one after Christmas when the stock gets back to normal - they're only young but they don't like being ripped off any more than I do and were good as gold about it. Hope this helps.0

Ok - don't shoot the messenger with this one - I have just walked home past a shop called Magpie Records and in the window they had posters advertising the fact that they have got Wii consoles in stock and to ask inside for the price. I thought this was a tad strange - why not just put the price up. Anyway having seen the pleas on here for the consoles I thought it best to ask how much they were. The guy behind the counter said rather sheepishly '£290'. I said I assumed that was for a bundle with several games. Nope - just the console and Wii play. I pointed out that they were a rip off. He tried to justify it by saying it was costing them a lot to buy them in.
Anyway if anyone is that desperate they are now in stock.0
