Easyjet vouchers if airline goes bust?

Hello all. Hope everyone is staying safe. I have flights booked with easyJet in July but am unlikely to go. They are offering to rebook flights for a different date or a credit note for the value of the flights to be used over next 12 months. Refund not an option as flights in July are not cancelled. The credit note seems a good option but what happens if easyJet goes into administration? This happened to me once before with monarch airlines and I had to chase a refund through my credit card company. I used a credit card to book these easyJet flights but am wondering if there would be a refund option for a credit note if they went into administration . Any insight?

Hey I was wondering how you got them to offer you a credit note? We have flights booked for August and at the moment you can move them for free but only to next May and I want to move them to next Aug - they may well get cancelled but right now I would prefer to take a credit note however the call centre seems to be shut it just gives a short message and hangs up, how did you get hold of them to offer you a credit note and did they do it before the flight was cancelled?
    thanks!

If easyjet cancel your flight they email you a week beforehand and offer you vouchers or to change flight for another date (they have released flight schedules up to end of May 2021 at the moment).  There will also be a link to a form to request refund.  Word of caution about the vouchers though - in my case they did not give a voucher for full value - i was given a voucher with the cost of hold baggage deducted and I am still trying to get a response as to why this was not included in my voucher
