Either way at the moment refunds are taking a long time for most retailer due to staff issues (so they say) Could be that they are moving staff to area's that generate the profit (sales front line) and leaving the back office staff short handed.

Seems totally logical. However the queue for Currys web chat grows bigger by the day. Will they suffer a backlash due to prioritising sales at the expense of customer service? They seem to be somewhat immune to that. Thousands of 1 star reviews on trust pilot, but business is booming. To be honest, I’ve had good deals in the past, but this experience has got the better of me. I’m just gonna sit tight. I wound up a few people in my very first post on MSE and that was never my intention. Probably came on a bit high and mighty (and stupid) with quoting consumer rights on a busIness transaction.

The problem is that Currys PC world are now one of the only large high street retailers around and with JL probably closing some of their stores permanently, their market share will only increase so if people want to go to a "real" shop, Currys are one of the few around.
I'm sure that if there was more competition, their customer service would be a bit better.

I was thinking the same. Still, for TV and home cinema you’ve still got Richer Sounds. Never had a negative experience with them. I’ve even seen people compare their customer service to JL. But for a lot of other stuff, it’s either Currys or the internet. And Currys are sometime cheaper.
