Credit score drop

I have recently decided to stop wasting money on a subscription to Experian partly on advice by an advisor on one of my accounts during a completely unrelated call.
Since I have cancelled with them they have emailed me saying my score has dropped by 15 points. Prior to cancelling I noted from them my score was the maximum possible so very good yes. I know 15 isn't very much so I'm still in a very good position. The only financial change in the last few days has been me telling them I no longer want the subscription. No checks have been made by anyone, no more debt, no loans or anything applied for. The only thing changed is me saying I don't want their subscription anymore. Again I know its a small drop but why? Just because I don't want that service anymore!

Ignore the score number it means nothing lenders don't use it to asses you for a credit product its your credit history that matters, each lender has there own scoring method. The fictitious number you are given can go up or down for a variety of reasons for example one month you may use more of your credit limit on a credit card, or you may take out a new credit product, or nothing may change at all.Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0

Your score is irrelivant, at best its a made up number, they are just used as marketing tools by the CRA`s.How many CRA`s you know lend money ?The "score" just reacts to change of any kind, good or bad, its credit history that counts, please read the sticky thread at the top of this forum.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Don’t be obsessed with a full score - it’s definitely a made up number - the cra’s regularly decide on new criteria as to how they make up their scores - so this month they may have decided that anyone that has an average age of account less than 8.9 years will fall down a category - whereas last month it was set at 9.5 years. It’s all subjective and just a rough guide. It’ll go up it’ll go down - so will your trousers. But well done for cancelling the subscription.0
