Being made redundant and can't afford holiday

I have a holiday booked with tui for October and I still have £400 to pay by the end of July. I got a phone call yesterday saying I am being made redundant as the shop I work in will not be opening again. I have been there 3 years and will only be entitled to government redundancy as the company is in administration so will only get 3 weeks pay. I can't afford to pay my holiday off and will probably lose the £650 I have already paid if I don't pay the rest. Due to my circumstances will I be able to amend it for free.

You are probably due a refund on your holiday as it will be cancelled anyway. Maybe ask Tui if they will cancel it now for you, or if they can delay payment due to these exceptional circumstances.

End of July is a while yet, is there no supermarket work available?, I once cancelled a holiday and wished I hadn’t, it’s something to look forward too, if you get another job quickly you would regret cancelling?

You can always ask, they do not need to. July is a long way away its another 2 months you may find another job by then.
