Self Employment Grant

I have been given the date of the 14th May to make my SEISS claim, do I have to claim on that day or is it ok to claim after the 14th eg 18th May.

Thanks in advance

I have been given the 13th and I also want to defer applying till the end of the month, mainly because I don't want it to coincide of receiving my U/C this month. I contacted HMRC through the web chat and I was just advised to apply on the date I was given as they want to complete the applications in a timely manner and I may not receive my payment untill June if i didnt. So still unsure what I can do ?

If you don't defer it, and you have business expenses that need paying, pay them in the same assessment period that you get the grant.

If you put off receiving the grant, presumably you will have the same issue in the next assessment period.

Don't think anyone can answer for certain as there is no published information on when claims have to be made by.

Hopefully once the claim form is available it will be clearer.....or possibly not!
